Rosemary likes to know where her food comes from. So does Vivian Howard. Check out two seasons of A chef’s life and learn to know American southern cooking, one ingredient at a time.
Working the restaurant kitchens of New York, Vivian and her husband Ben learned from some of the best chefs. When wanting to open their own restaurant, Vivian’s parents wanted to help. But there was one catch… the restaurant had to be located in her hometown of Kinston, North Carolina, a place she had said she would never return. It turned out to be a success, but not with out hard work and some struggles on the way. At the award winning restaurant Chef & the Farmer Vivan strives to find the best the area has to offer. She gets to know the farmers that deliver the food and picks up on local dishes from family and people around her. You get to follow the whole process and learn about the different ingredients in this joyful documentary.
