Making natural wines is often discussed as “do-nothing” winemaking because it is easier to tell you what we don’t do
The family owned winery Donkey & Goat is located in Berkeley, California, and Tracey and Jared Brandt are serving up great natural wines. They left their tech jobs to pursue traditional winemaking in the Rhône Valley before returning home to the US to apply their knowledge. They craft their wines from grapes grown at three different appellations. The whole process is natural with a small amount of sulfur only added occasionally following their own manifesto.
