The best sandwich ever!
After a steak dinner, a sandwich should be on the menu. Use leftover meat and sauce if you have it, and whatever else you got laying around. Or, if this picture got your mouth watering, make it from scratch!
Steak sandwich with onion and bearnaise
1 slice of entrecôte (rib-eye steak)
salt and pepper
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp white wine vinegar
1 small baguette
Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet and add oil. Cook the meat on one side until it has gotten a brown color. Turn over and add a tbsp butter and crushed garlic. Pour the melted butter over the meat and fry a couple of minutes. Take the meat out of the pan and let the meat rest at least 10 minutes. Slice the onion and add to the pan with a tbsp of butter. Fry until golden. Add sugar, vinegar and a pinch of salt and stir until the liquid has evaporated and the onion is soft. Split the bread in two and pile on lettuce, bearnaise sauce, sliced meat and the onions. Enjoy!
